Interesting building: an odd collection of diverse boxes and gables. But difficult to get a good angle on this, as it’s hemmed in by trees and tall buildings; will come again in winter!
St Martin’s Place, from the steps of St Martin’s church. Spent too long looking for a place out of the sun, and had to hurry the painting stage: which is why it’s in black and white.
Box Hill used to be known for its appearance in Jane Austen’s Emma; now it’s famous for being a Pokestop: it was swarming with people staring at smartphones.
The church of Christ Church Greyfriars was bombed in WWII; only the west wall and tower remain. The nave is now a garden; the wooden towers mark the original pillars. A much bigger drawing than my usual Moleskine size, which took three hours.
